Here at Fremont Robotics, we’re big fans of the work Clearpath Robotics is doing to tame the complexity of developing autonomous mobile robots. Their indoor and outdoor mobile robot platforms are a great head-start for us when developing new AMR applications.

So we’re excited to see their latest release, the Husky Observer. They’ve taken the well-tested Husky outdoor robot platform and packaged it into a solution for outdoor data collection. With LIDAR, GPS, and an HD RGB camera on board, it’s a great starting point for inspection and security applications.

Before, to build an outdoor AMR solution, we would usually take a Clearpath dev platform or similar, and add a custom set of sensors and software. The product usually ends up looking a lot like the Observer! With this new platform, we can spend more time on what's unique to your application and less time on integrating the base platform. It's a win-win-win for you, us, and Clearpath.
